Frequently Asked Questions

What is sugaring?

Sugaring is an ancient Egyptian hair removal method using a 100% natural paste of sugar, lemon, and water. It removes hair from the root without adhering to live skin cells, making it safe and effective for all skin types and hair textures—especially sensitive or ingrown-prone skin. With regular maintenance, hair grows back finer and slower.

How do I prepare?

Hair should be at least ¼ inch long. Arrive freshly showered and avoid lotions, oils, deodorant, or fragrance on the area. Exfoliate beforehand, but not within 24 hours of your appointment.

How often should I come in?

Every 3–6 weeks for best results. Consistency leads to less discomfort and reduced regrowth.

Can I shave between appointments?

No. Shaving disrupts the hair growth cycle, increases irritation and ingrowns, and makes your next sugaring service more uncomfortable.

Can I be sugared on my period or while pregnant?

Yes to both. Sensitivity may be higher during your cycle or pregnancy. Some clients take an over-the-counter pain reliever beforehand.

Are there contraindications?

Sugaring is not recommended if you are using skin-thinning or sensitizing medications (such as Retin-A, Accutane, Differin, Renova, or blood thinners). Services cannot be performed on broken skin, active irritation, cold sores, or moles. Please wait 7 days after chemical peels or microdermabrasion.

What is a Vajacial?

A calming add-on treatment after Brazilian sugaring that includes gentle extractions, a hydrogel masque, cryotherapy, and high-frequency treatment to soothe inflammation, hydrate skin, and support healing.

What is Brow Lamination?

A semi-permanent treatment that reshapes brow hairs for a fuller, lifted look lasting 4–6 weeks. Ideal for unruly or uneven brows. Not suitable for those who are pregnant/nursing, have eye infections, hypersensitive skin, certain medical conditions, or are using Retinol, Retin-A, or Accutane.

What is Brow Henna?

A natural, vegan dye that stains both the hair and skin for fuller, more defined brows. The skin stain lasts up to one week, while brow color lasts 4–6 weeks.
